Each episode takes roughly between 90-120 minutes to play, although this depends on how quick you are, or how deeply you wish to delve into the world of the game.

Our games cost less than a trip to a good escape room, a theatre ticket or a night out with friends. The Detective Society aims to combine aspects of all three of these experiences into a carefully crafted episode of 90 - 120 minutes of immersive gameplay. This means that a six-episode season contains a whopping 9 - 12 hours of game time!

Most players can solve our packages with very few hints, although, of course, it takes some players longer than others.

When players do get stuck we have an online clue system that players can access for hints, ranging from subtle to obvious. These are carefully hidden so you can’t see a clue to a future puzzle by accident.

Players can also ask for help from the community on our Facebook Group or Reddit.

We recommend our games for players aged 14+. This is due to the peril that characters come face-to-face with - being a detective is dangerous, people may die. However, the episodes don't feature any expletives or graphic images.

For detectives aged 8-14, we recommend our print-at-home adventure, The Professor's Missing Potion.

There are six episodes in each of The Disappearance of Claire Makova, The Sudden Silence of Timothy Lee and The Cursed Exhibition.

There are three episodes in Trouble in Folklore Falls.

No, everything contained inside the box will have been used and therefore can be disposed of. All our episodes are standalone in terms of puzzles, however the story continues from box to box.

Many of our boxes do involve sending SMS messages or making calls.

However, all messages can also be sent for free via WhatsApp, eliminating all fees for players, wherever they are. All voicemails are also accessible online - links are in the clue section for each game.

When you purchase a whole season, you get sent all the episodes, unless you are making a pre-order of an upcoming season.
