WhatsApp Integration Now Live

Hello Detectives!

We have been contacted by a few of you in the US whose carriers don’t allow them to message our SMS systems, so we’ve been working hard and we’re pleased to announce that we’ve now managed to set up all phone numbers within the game so that you can also message via WhatsApp.

A little update on everything that’s going on here at The Detective Society HQ: we’re also pleased to say that the foreign language Episode Twos have now been shipped. We’re building up to ship the English version of Episode Three to all those that have bought it at the end of this month. Meanwhile, Episode Four is in testing and Episode Five is in the early stages of puzzle design.

Finally, we have now launched the ability to purchase the games as gifts on our website, so if anyone is stuck for an idea for a present, then the society is open to new members.

Episode Two Dispatched

Hello Detectives!

We’re very pleased to say that we have shipped the English versions of Episode Two!

When we gave you estimated delivery times when we shipped Episode One, we hadn’t taken into account the delays at customs we are seeing as a result of Covid-19. With that in mind, here are our new estimates of how long it should take for your packages to arrive:
- UK – 2-5 days
- Europe – 1-2 weeks
- USA – 2-4 weeks
- Canada, Australia & NZ – 3-5 weeks
Also, following feedback from some of our backers, we have made efforts to ensure that our boxes are sealed more securely.

It’s our aim to ship non-English versions of Episode Two in the next two to three weeks.

Bonus Content and Episode Two

Hello Detectives,

As many of you will have no doubt seen, over the weekend we sent out the first piece of between-episode bonus content! To avoid spoilers, this will only have been sent to players who have finished Episode One (it will have gone to the email used to send the final email). If you haven’t already solved Episode One – don’t worry! It’ll be automatically sent to you 24-72 hours after you finish.

This week we’re manufacturing Episode Two. We’ll send out another update when it has been shipped. This means that you only have until the end of Wednesday to let us know if you want to change your address for this episode. If you do want to change it, email: [email protected]

If you wish to subscribe from Episode Two onwards you have until the end of the month. From September 1st we will start taking subscriptions from those who wish to start with Episode Three. Thank you so much to everyone who has played Episode One and your amazing comments and testimonials. It sounds like many of you are having a blast! We’re excited to send Episode Two to you later this month.

In other news, we know some people are still waiting for Episode One to arrive. Don’t worry though: we’re still seeing games from our first batch being delivered daily around the world. We’re now in the process of packaging up our Episode One translations for French, German and Spanish. These should ship before the end of the week and we’ll send another update when they’re on their way.

Episode Two and Beyond

Hello Detectives,

Thank you to all of you who have left such amazing feedback! We’re thrilled to see so many of you having a blast with our first game!

A lot of people have been asking us if it’s possible to subscribe from Episode Two onwards – we have now set this up on our website: https://thedetectivesociety.com/shop/ – you can also purchase Episode Two by itself and these will be shipped along with everyone else’s Episode Twos at the end of August.

If you’ve play the game and enjoy it please do tell your friends and mention us on social media, we’d love for as many people as possible to join The Detective Society and get solving our cases.

We’re pleased to say translations into German, French and Spanish are progressing well and we should be able to begin shipping the translated versions of Episode One within the next two weeks.

For those of you who are yet to receive Episode One – we hope you enjoy getting your teeth into the case.

Episode One Dispatched!

Hello Detectives!

Today is the day – our first copies of Episode One have been dispatched! We handed over 26 sacks to the Royal Mail a few hours ago and they are now heading to all corners of the world. The Royal Mail estimates the following delivery times:
- UK: 2-3 days
- Europe: 3-5 days
- USA, Canada and the Rest of the World: 6-7 days
However, Coronavirus is causing some issues with the global shipping network so there is a chance they may take slightly longer than estimated.

If you’ve bought a copy, you will also have received an email from us with a few preliminary details about your case. If you haven’t received an email, please check your spam and ensure that our domains – thedetectivesociety.com & thedetectivesociety.co.uk – are whitelisted.

If you still need to purchase a copy of Episode One you can do so by visiting our shop.

We hope you enjoy the cases – do let us know how it’s going on social media: you can find us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook and we’d love to see some photos of you and your packages. Great news, Detectives!

We’ve spent this week packing our lovely new boxes and we’re aiming to begin shipping them to you all on Monday 27th July.

We can’t yet give a definitive arrival date for your individual parcels, as it will depend upon Royal Mail and the exact day during the week that your item is posted, but we hope everyone who has purchased an English copy of Episode One will get their delivery in the next two weeks. We will of course keep you updated if there are any changes.

We’re so excited to see our games in shiny physical format and we’re even more excited to hear about your adventures and experiences as you begin solving the case. Don’t forget to say hi on social media 🙂

Update on Episode One

Hello Detectives,

We’re delighted to report that Episode One testing was completed a week or two ago, and the final list of contents has been sent to our UK-based printers.

We are hoping to receive all the contents for Episode One in the next two weeks – with a target shipping date of week commencing 27th July.

Originally we had hoped to ship Episode One in mid-July, but because of the overwhelming popularity of our Kickstarter and continued sales through our website, we have taken a little longer to get things just right. We promise the wait will be worth it!

If you backed us on Kickstarter and haven’t completed a backer survey yet, please do so to ensure you get your games on time. If you’re having any issues with filling out the backer survey, please email us at [email protected]. If you ordered through our website, then we already have your details, so there’s nothing for you to do – just sit back, relax and prepare yourself for your incoming detective work.

Finally, we want to take this opportunity to say that we will begin to post more of our news here on our blog, slowly moving away from Kickstarter.

Hello Detectives!

We can’t believe we’re finally here. After 45 exciting days, our campaign has come to an end. We could never have anticipated this level of support and we’re so incredibly grateful to all of you, our backers. We’re completely overwhelmed.

In the last few hours of our campaign, we’re pleased to say that we smashed our final stretch goal! This means that every single Episode One we ship will contain an exclusive pin badge. For those people who have bought in couples or groups, we’ll send details round closer to the shipping date on how you can order extra badges, if you’d like them.

Also, as previously mentioned, we’ll be sending out our backer surveys soon. You can read more details about them in our previous update.

For anyone that missed the boat, our online store is now live at https://thedetectivesociety.com/. This is also where you will be able to buy future episodes, when they’re released, if you didn’t purchase the whole of Season One.
